I asked. "That's me and your grandma on our wedding day." he says. I watched as his experienced eyes moved over the image taking in each detail. He was quiet at first, then started talking - about how they met and then story after story of her he'd filed in his mind.

That's when I realized the power of a photo. The image held joy and faithfulness. It portrayed a life of provision and the delight of finding your person. I knew at that moment I wanted to create images that carry that amount of meaning decades later.

The truth is, I know that I'm not the photographer for everyone. My couples care deeply about family, the details of carefully curated heirlooms and capturing the fleeting moments that are gone so quickly.
